The Serpentine solves a familiar lounge problem: a long, open floor that needs seating without becoming a wall of booths. Its back sweeps along most of the length, then drops away into an open, rounded chaise end, so the piece can be approached from three sides and reads as sculpture when the room is empty.
Shown in cognac and in olive leather. The body sits on low metal disc feet in a warm bronze-toned finish, which lifts it off the floor and makes cleaning underneath easy.
Construction
- Hardwood and plywood frame cut to the serpentine curve, with internal steel reinforcement on the longest spans
- Sprung seat deck with high-resilience foam
- Back and chaise end upholstered in panels with stitched seams that follow the curve
- Metal disc feet; finish to order
The chaise end works well facing a window or a stage, with the backed section turned toward the bar. Two units mirrored around a pair of cocktail tables make a large conversation island. We set the overall length and the handing (chaise left or right) to your plan.
